Black Arves is not just a name, it’s a statement.
A dialogue between material and landscape. Between the depth of burnt wood and the raw intensity of the French Alpine peaks. In this luxury lodge project, burnt wood doesn’t just dress up the architecture: it defines it. It structures the volumes, anchors the atmosphere and gives the place a strong presence. The identity is self-evident: Black Arves. More than a project, an attitude.
The façade expresses this vision through a subtle composition of two materials: a burnt and brushed Douglas fir whose carbonisation reveals a deep, matt and vibrant black hue, and a natural wood that brings warmth, softness and authenticity. The contrast between the intense black and the organic tone of the natural wood creates a powerful balance.
