Cracow Alpin Project
The project
This project is a self-built modern home, inspired by the clean simplicity of Swizterland chalet architecture while embracing a contemporary aesthetic.
Typically used for exterior cladding, fencing, and interior paneling, Siberian larch was chosen here for its durability, character, and ability to age beautifully over time. Its distinctive, often knotty grain gives each façade a unique identity, with natural tones ranging from creamy yellow to warm light brown.
The intention behind this project was not only to create a modern home, but to allow the material to evolve naturally. Left untreated, the larch will gradually develop a soft, weathered patina, adding depth and authenticity to the architecture as the years go by.
Through charred wood applications, the natural beauty of this timber can be further enhanced, offering a range of refined finishes that highlight its texture and richness.
This home is a personal vision brought to life. A balance between contemporary design and natural materials, where durability meets timeless elegance.
